Long Holds Ozark Photo Contest
02/07/12
WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Congressman Billy Long announced that he is holding an Ozark photo contest on his website to decide which Ozark landmarks will be photographed for his Washington, D.C. office.
“The 7th District is made up of ten unique counties that contain many natural wonders and historical sites that contribute to rich communities and cultures,” said Long. “To celebrate the beauty and diversity of the Ozarks, I am holding a contest on my website to choose Ozark landmarks from each county that will be professionally photographed and displayed in my Washington, D.C. office.”
The Presiding Commissioner of each of the 7th District’s counties gave the Congressman three locations that they felt best represented their counties. These locations are everything from famous buildings to natural landmarks to bridges or roads. The only requirement is that each location represents the county in some way.
In the end, only one location from each county can be photographed. In order to pick a winner, 7th District residents are able to vote on the Congressman’s website, www.long.house.gov The contest starts immediately and will conclude on April 30th.
“I am very proud of the Ozarks and excited to see what locations will be photographed” said Long. “I am also excited that visitors to my office will be able to appreciate the beauty of our home, even if they have never been there before.”
